Fire levels (Low, Moderate, High, Extreme) are posted on the CVRFPD homepage ➚ and the Burn Permit ➚ Page and updated as needed during fire season.

Do I need a burn permit?
Yes — most outdoor burning requires a permit from Lake County. CVRFPD does not issue permits directly. View Burn Permit Info here ➚

To apply for a burn permit, please visit the Burn Permits page ➚ and fill out the form at the bottom of the page.

Can I burn after dark?
No. Absolutely no burning is allowed after dark, regardless of fire level.
